The textile works reflect on how pets have evolved from sources of assistance into commodities that confer status and prestige. Dog-head silhouettes are made from padded fabric used in many applications. The titles “Air”, “Lo” and “Champion” are borrowed from athleisure branding, where such words are used to emphasise a product’s features. The work reflects on the desire for self-expression through commodities and explores relationships between materials, objects and social class.
