The textile works reflect upon how pets have evolved from one of assistance to one of a commodity to accrue status and prestige. Dog head silhouettes are made from padded fabric that is used in many applications. The titles “Air”, “Lo” and “Champion” are abstracted from athleisure wear given to emphasize features of a product. The work reflects on a desire of self-expression through commodities and explores the relationships between materials, objects and social class.
